Carolina Mejía Niño (Stockholm, 1987)

Degree in Architecture from Los Andes University in Bogotá, she completes her training in Barcelona and San Sebastian; accompanying her architectural studies with art living in the Basque Country establishing her studio in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

She focuses on oil painting, acrylic, and engraving; constantly exploring the reinvention of traditional techniques by introducing copper and bronze as constant protagonists of the process. Her work reflects not only enjoyment for the artistic exploration being the human expressions the main protagonists, but also the form of construction of the pieces leaves in evidence the vision of an architect. Her work focuses on portraits that reflect human feelings, claiming different collectives.

Her work has been shown in Bogota, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Hendaia, Rome, Manchester, among others. She is an award-winning painter and published author.
